‘MOD bought silence with payments – shamefully no police investigations’
Another year and another round of sex abuse allegations involving children the BBC report that the FA is to investigate and doubtless the police forces in the various areas will as well (link):

But will all this go anywhere? As we reported recently in 2014 the British Ministry of Defence admitted they had paid out over £2 million to settle child abuse claims involving the Military Cadet Forces. The monies only covered a limited period and as far as we can ascertain no police action was initiated to establish whether there was a nest of abusers in the Military Cadet Forces
Given that sort of track record I wouldn’t hold out much hopes for a clean and transparent analysis of what went wrong in Football!
