The Irish Times reported at the weekend that large amounts of waste plastic ostensibly exported to Asia for recycling is ending up in the Ocean. If this goes on ‘Beach Buddies’ will be busy for generations.
Two Irish Universities NUI Galway and the University of Limerick have cooperated to compile this data. EU action is needed now to verify that plastic waste is recycled or the trade should be halted!
