On 3rd Oct. Omni Air N819AX on contract to the US military landed at Shannon about 0830am coming from Naval Air Station Norfolk in Virginia US. It took off again about 11.45am and flew on to land at Kuwait, and at Al Udeid US air base in Qatar, and also landed at an airbase in Saudi Arabia on 4th Oct. and then landed again at Kuwait, then made a stop in Jordan on its return journey to Shannon airport. It landed at Shannon about 20.40pm on 4 Oct. and took off again about 00.30am on 5 Oct. and flew on to Baltimore in the US.
On 4 Oct Omni Air N486AM on contract to the US military landed at Shannon airport about 19.51pm coming from Robert Gray Army airfield in Killeen TX. It took off again about 22.35pm and then flew on to Poznan in Poland and from there to Karmelava air base in Lithuania then flew on to the Middle East.
On 4 Oct US Air Force Hercules C130J flew through Irish airspace, coming from the US and landed at Prestwick in Scotland and has since flown on to land at Ramstein US airbase in Germany.
Given that the US is actively supporting the Israeli genocide in Gaza, and the Israeli invasion of Lebanon as well as carrying out aggressive military operations in the Middle East and Africa, and actively engaged in the war in Ukraine all this is in clear breach of Ireland’s status as a neutral state, and in breach of Ireland’s constitutional obligations to promote international peace. Such breaches of Irish neutrality make Ireland, including Shannon airport, a possible military target in the event of a deterioration of the war in Ukraine.
More importantly, it makes the Irish Government complicit in the Gaza genocide.
