The Sallins Train Robbery or more accurately the brutal treatment of those arrested on suspicion at the time by Garda has come back to haunt the Irish State.
Early this year it was announced that some of those detained at the time were considering an appeal to the UN Committee on Torture. It has since been announced a high profile Belfast legal practice is taking the case on.

The Celtic League were involved in the campaign to free one of those detained (Nicky Kelly) and the issue was the subject of an AGM resolution adopted at the 1983 AGM held that year at Trelowarren House near Helston in Kernow (Link Pages 12 and 13).
