We have warned over the years about the military (NATO) playing fast and loose with the marine environment and highlighted the damage to the environment and marine life that exercises such as the annual Joint Warrior series of NATO exercises around our shores cause.
Now from Germany comes this report of similar disregard for the environment due to casual attitudes to discarded ordnance.
Its food for thought given that as in the Baltic Sea there are tens of thousands of tonnes of discarded munitions around our shores.
