RADIO MANX TRUST CLARITY SOUGHT
The Isle of Man government has been asked to clarify the circumstances by which members of the `Radio Manx Trust’ are appointed:
Chief Executive Officer
Isle of Man
Dear Mr Shimmin
Ref; Radio Manx Trust
Further to my conversation with you recently can I ask?
a) Are the members of the Radio Manx Trust appointed by the IOM Treasury?
b) If the answer to (a) is yes what criteria is used by the Treasury for such appointments and does it follow any guidelines set down by the Council of Ministers?
c) Are Trustees subject to the same code of conduct for persons in public life as are set out by the Appointments Commission?
d) Why are appointments to the Trust not undertaken by the Appointments Commission?
e) If the Trustees are appointed by the Treasury is there any requirement for them to liaise or report to the Treasury (either formally or informally)?
f) Are the Trustees required to produce a report for the Treasury or Tynwald on an annual basis and is this published?
g) Are the deliberations of the Trust a part of the public record?
Trusting you can clarify these few points.
