NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE
I have eventually received a reply to the queries on MHK/MLCs pensions but it carries the heading ‘Private and Confidential’.
So I’m afraid, Celtic League always being ‘proper’ in our correspondence with government departments, I can’t share the elucidation such as it is with you all.
The reply comes via the PSPA but I think as I’ve explained they had to get the concurrence of the Tynwald Emoluments Committee to release the info and agree the text so who has put the ‘confidentiality’ rider on it is anyone’s guess.
Anyway the questions I sent are at this link so I suggest if you are desperate to get an understanding of just what sort of ‘golden goodbye’ our politicians get you drop either the PSPA or the Tynwald Committee a line yourself.
There was no detail of a personal nature in the correspondence so why the reticence – who knows? What I can say that in literally almost forty years of dealing with governments agencies such as the Ministry of Defence to the International Atomic Energy Agency I’ve never had correspondence with this type of rider.
