The funeral took place today ( 25th April) to Glasnevin Cemerty, Dublin of P.T.(Tomás) Mac Ruairí. From Crossmaglen originally, he spent a lifetime working for the Irish Language He was one of the founders of Gaelscoileanna ( Irish Language medium schools organisation) and a founder of Scoil Neasáin. He served many decades on the Executive of Conradh na Gaeilge with periods as President To other Celts he will no doubt be remembered for his long association (25 years a director) with Lorient Interceltic Festival. Tomás was Head of FIL in Ireland and organised all the music and dance groups from Ireland, bringing them to the Festival in a chartered plane and they were on occassions joined by musicians from the isle of Man.He was a long time member of the Irish Branch of the Celtic League.He is survived by his wife Síle and his six children ro whom we extend our sympathies on behalf of the League.
