Catalonia: Vast crowds call for ‘occupation forces’ to go

A major strike called by Trade Unions in Catalonia has paralysed the country. The stoppage has been called as a protest against the violence by Civil Guards and National Police against referendum voters on Sunday.

Placards saying ‘Occupation Forces Get Out’ are being displayed a reference to the fact that Civil Guard units are still occupying police barracks and two large accommodation ships in Barcelona Port.
