Irish coastguard make new effort to find lost heroes of ‘Rescue 116’:
“A search operation has resumed for the bodies of two Irish coastguard crew who went missing four months ago.
Four crew members died when the Rescue 116 aircraft hit Blackrock Island on the County Mayo coast on 14 March.
Captain Dara Fitzpatrick was the first crew member to be found after she was rescued from the sea hours after the crash but died later in hospital.
The body of her co-pilot Capt Mark Duffy was recovered from the submerged wreckage of the helicopter more than 10 days later.
But the bodies of winchmen Paul Ormsby and Ciarán Smith have not been recovered after thewreckage was discovered about 60m west of Blackrock Island in Co. Mayo.
A fresh search operation will use a boat to comb the seabed later and Garda divers will search the scene after the search was scaled back in April to wait until seas were calmer in the summer.”
