mapThe Celtic League is an inter-celtic organisation that campaigns for the social, political and cultural rights of the Celtic nations, as set out in the aims and objectives.

The organisation produces a high quality quarterly magazine, CARN. This is produced mainly in English but also carries articles in all the Celtic languages.

It was founded in 1961 by Celtic nationalists who saw the need for an inter-Celtic organisation with a political dimension in order to make the peoples of the Celtic nations more aware of their commonality of language, history and culture, to further the Celtic Nations’ right to independence and to promote the benefits of interceltic co-operation.

The organisation, both at Branch and central level, campaigns on a broad range of issues relating to independence, language, culture and social and human rights. Branches co-operate in this where possible. Statements to the media also appear on the internet newslist which can be viewed and subscribed to by anyone with an e-mail. The list is NOT a discussion group.
