United States – Ireland 100: Celebrating a Century of Irish Art & Culture

The Celebration Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising continues at the John F Kennedy Memorial Center in Washington DC. The Festival of Irish Arts and Culture is part of the global celebration of the Easter Rising and is on from May 17–June 5, 2016. Highlighting Irish culture and its relationship to America under the title IRELAND 100: Celebrating a Century of Irish Arts & Culture, the event is curated by Alicia Adams, Vice President of International Programming and Dance, featuring Artist-in-Residence Fiona Shaw. The Festival has performances from some of Ireland’s best contemporary musicians, dancers and theatre companies. Included in the programme is a literature series, documentary screenings, installations, culinary arts. The full details of performances and events can be seen on The Kennedy Center website.
