Castro: Critics drowned out by a genuine outpouring of global grief

The ashes of cremated Cuban leader Fidel Castro have been carried across Cuba following the route of his revolutionary march across the Island in the late 1950s which culminated in the ousting of the Batista regime which had been installed by the United States.

There is a major International attendance at his funeral and indeed in some instances it was only logistical problems that stopped even more politicians globally from attending.

However its not just politicians and world leaders but ordinary people globally who have been touched by his loss.

One post on our site (one of several) – about his decision to commit Cuban resources to fought Ebola in West Africa – has attracted a reach of 174,000 people and 11,500 likes and growing and we are just one Facebook site and blog of many globally. The Ebola outbreak of course did not just threaten Africa which bore the brunt of suffering but also Europe and the World.

Of course there were his critics but for the most part their bile has been drowned out by the genuine outpouring of global feeling at the loss of this revolutionary leader.
