As reported in our earlier post the inquest into some of those lost on the MFV Bugaled Breizh gets underway this week in London.
The most comprehensive report to date on the sinking is by the official French accident investigation bureau (BEA) and I enclose a link to the report which shows the damage on the recovered vessel and also details the rescue effort etc.
I SHOULD STRESS THE CONCLUSIONS OF THIS REPORT ARE FIRMLY REJECTED BY RELATIVES OF THOSE LOST ON THE VESSEL
I also attach a timeline of the subsequent events which detailed all the efforts by relatives to get conclusive answers.
What the BEA report shows quite clearly is the extent of the damage to the vessel and the fact that it sank – very suddenly – in a submarine exercise area and that SUBFACTs had been operating at the time.
