Various news sources in both the 26 counties and 6 counties are reporting that a 12000 tonne oil tanker has run aground near Greencastle in Lough Foyle. The vessel the Thun Liffey registered in the Netherlands struck the Tuns sandbank about 8:30 am today.
The vessel had discharged at Derry and was on its way to Milford Haven, two tugs are providing assistance.
