Following the Celtic League AGM some of the visiting League Officers were taken on a trip to Cregneash. This year is significant being the 70th anniversary of the visit by Eamon De Valera which led directly to the recording of the last native Manx Speakers.
The Visitors were given a talk on the recordings which were commenced by the Irish Folklore Commission after De Valera authorised the funding of a recording van and its delivery to the Island. The recording was then continued by Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh into the early 1950s.
Later the delegates also visited the execution site on Manx Martyr Illiam Dhone at Hango Hill.
